To sleep, perchance to be filmed

Yesterday, I had a visit with the sleep doctor .
He's very aware of Fibromyalgia and he is optimistic about helping me as there have been many studies linking Fibro with sleep disorders.
I will have to go for a sleep study where I will be hooked up to sensors and filmed as I sleep . How creepy is that? And I have to sleep alone! No Steve! No dog!
The study will determine how my sleep is disordered and how it can be fixed.
He gave me an article from Sleep Review magazine, this is the link below.

http://www.sleepreviewmag.com/issues/articles/2007-01_01.asp

The article is very interesting, although a lot of it is over my head. It's also very gratifying to know that fibro is being recognized for what it is.
Going to a doctor and getting validation about one's disease is very comforting.

Today is Carol-my-cleaning-lady-day. I am holed up in the office in order to stay out of her way, hence my writing here today despite my fuzzy state. ( see article for details)

Happily, it is a sunny day in the 40's. I am waiting for Carol to finish so Carrie and I can go to the park. I need sun desperately.

I am taking a little cheer from the fact that Bush's house of cards may be starting to crumble albeit slowly.
His reversal on talks with Syria and Iran is crucial. So is accountability in Iraq and Afghanistan ( where 23 died in an attempt on Cheney). And in the Armed Forces. In his administration the phrase" support our troops" is only one-way, to the battlefields. Again and again. Their reward? Sub-standard medical care, abuse of their benefits and withdrawal of pay.
Oh yeah, and we have no business putting them there in harm's way in the first place.

Mom's birthday

It's hard to believe that she's been gone 2 years already, she would have been 94 today. We certainly have longevity in my family.
Yesterday, we went to visit my only surviving aunt, Sarah who just got out of the hospital. She is 96 1/2, has all her wits as well as her teeth and looks incredible.
Altho she gets periods of depression and wants to die already, she still has strength left.
We are each others link to my mother and it was wonderful to be with her- her hugs and kisses are just like my Mom's.
We had a snowstorm on the way home from Janie's. The flakes were the size of potato chips, Today is above freezing so everything turned to slush. Not unlike the condition of my own self.
I got my Aunt's recipe for mandelbrot ( jewish biscotti) and a snowy day is perfect for baking. I might just do it.

Is it spring yet?

It's come to my attention that I have been inattentive herewith. Believe you me no one wanted to hear from me lately. It's too cold- the weather is too severe. Too many days of high winds and temps in the teens have rendered me weak, dull, boring, uninteresting, grumpy and dyspeptic.
We were all excited cause Morgana was coming for a short visit but the weather gods decided the first storm of the year should be Valentine's day and all flights were canceled and so, her trip. We are way disappointed. We were both looking forward to her California sunshine.
Caramel hates the cold but she really likes the snow. At the playground today, which is covered with hard crust snow, she saw her buddy Nitro ( who looks like her but at twice the size) and met a new puppy named Suki. They had a grand time chasing each other over the ice and stealing each others sticks while us humans waited, freezing our asses off. Praises to the inventor of synthetic fleece!
I can't believe how Congress is dragging it's feet over an Iraq resolution. Politicians suck. And Guiliani is running for president, seriously? That would be several steps closer to a police state.
And why the hell is Anna Nicole Smith so famous and when will we stop hearing about her?
Bah, media!
