Happy Chanukah!

Poor neglected blog, I've been neglecting you while off having fantastic adventures. If this is truly a diary/journal/remembrance kind of dealio, I'm not doing a very good job of recording. True, most of my life is dull and boring but stuff does occasionally happen. Lately:
we spent a merry Thanksgiving at my brother's, Sarah & family were there but Michael and his didn't come and were missed but Cecily & her fam filled in the gaps. Sid hoodwinked me into making TWO kugels, saying that tiny baby Tori eats lots of it. It was beautiful,in the 70's that day. We stayed over and the next day drove up to the Poconos where that night it was in the teens. There's a lot of weather in the mountains! We stayed in our 1/2 time-share, for the first time,
finally- the first vacation where we stayed in one place for an entire week.
It was cozy-lovely with a woodsy view, a fireplace and a two-person hot tub. As it was hunting season the resort, the pools and restaurants and the roads were blissfully empty. We swam, walked, ate, watched cable TV ( caught a 2 Deep Space 9 !!), shopped (we got a down coats for winter dog-walking) and even went to the movies ("Enchanted"-really very good), and ate. A lot. For some reason, there is a lot of good seafood to be had in the far-from-the-sea Poconos.
And ice cream. No pets are allowed so Caramel stayed at doggie camp with Garo, who rescued her as well as many other dogs. Before we left, Caramel tested positive on her heartworm check-up so today, I had to take her to the Vet for another heartworm treatment. She got a shot of Imiticide, in her back and it's pretty painful for a few days, but this time she was able to come home the same day instead of staying at the Vet overnight. It seems like she's in pain, she's moving around a lot trying to get comfortable. I'm off to a meeting of my Bklyn CFIDs/FM group (second one!), I hope she will sleep while I'm gone.

Well today turned into Tues, and I hit "save" instead of ""publish".
We are home from the Vet after Carrie's 2nd shot, the vet gave us some painkillers for her but she seems stiff and is grunting and kvetching. I sure hope this treatment is the last and she will be worm-free.
My meeting was small, just the organizer Maria and her sister Paula- lovely women both- but it was interesting, comfortable and a quiet but intense bitch-fest. Very gratifying. Boston Public is on- I've got to jet!
